The Chicago Housing Authority has a new chairman. Cheers to Mr. Jordan for agreeing to tackle the CHA's Plan for Transformation, a truly massive undertaking which is now 5 years behind schedule. It is encouraging to see Mayor Daley recruiting from outside his inner circle (Jordan was previously the head of the Housing Authority of Cook County and Rockford Housing Authority), and appointing a former resident of Rockwell Gardens is definitely a step in the right direction. Mr. Jordan also gets a thumbs up from our friends at the Metropolitan Planning Council.
